Windshield Panels F9F Panther
Here is a matched pair of windshield panels for the front canopy windscreen assembly of the Cold War-era US Navy Jet Fighter F9F Panther and/or F9F Cougar. These panels would have been mounted in a metal frame, one each on the left and right of the almond-shaped front windshield.
They appear to be of a polycarbonate or a plexiglas material. The right side is embossed with the number F20 10 56 and the left panel is embossed F20 10 55. Stamped on one panel is apparently the date of annealing of Dec 5 1955 or 1953.
We have not been able to definitively ID this part number to specific models of the F9F, but having looked at dozens of references for fighters, the F9F appears to be the closest match for these panels.
Measure ~ 29 inches by ~19 inches tall. The glass has some minor scratches but is in overall good condition.
