Wheel and Flap Position Indicator, Type A-3, GE 8DJ17AAL, New Old Stock

Here is a Type A-3 Wheel and Flap Position Indicator used in WWII aircraft of the US Army Air Force with a tail wheel (vs nose wheel aircraft), made by GE model 8DJ17AAL. According to the US Army Air Force Interchangeability Cross Reference Chart dated February 1945, this indicator was used in the fighter P-47 Thunderbolt, as well as in the A-35 Vengeance dive bomber, C-46 Commando transport, and UC-78 Bobcat utility aircraft.  

The positions of the wheels were indicated by the 3 small window insets, one each on the tail and each wing. The position of the flaps was indicated in the small window inset at the top, by showing increments of quarter fractions from Up to fully extended Down.

This instrument is New Old Stock in its original carton. The dial and glass are perfect.  Measures 3.5 inches diameter and ~ 2 inches deep.
