The ONI Weekly Briefing, Office of Naval Intelligence, May 23, 1945
During WWII, the US Navy's Office of Naval Intelligence issued a weekly confidential briefing in bulletin format to inform Officers and their peers in the theater of action of key information regarding the enemy. It included an overview of the status of the war, reviews of key engagements with maps, and observations of new tactics, methods, and weaponry.
In this edition, the war in Germany had just ended. Total focus was now on the war in the Pacific. This publication transports us to a ship's captain's quarters as he gets up to speed on all that is important to him and potentially impacting his command during this week at war.
The bulletin is small but full of information and perspective.
