This is a Control Wheel (aka Yoke) from the Douglas DC-6 commercial airliner. The Douglas DC-6 is a piston-powered airliner and transport aircraft built by the Douglas Aircraft Company from 1946 to 1958.
At the top of each end of the wheel are receptacles for the spring-loaded button switches, one for Autopilot Release and the other for Hydraulic Panel Lights. The black paint shows wear from use.
It is in reasonably good condition given its age.
