US War Dept
Recognition Manual, Armored Vehicles, FM 30-40
This is a WWII-era Recognition Manual for Armored Vehicles published by the US War Department in 1943. The manual was used by servicemen to identify armored vehicles such as personnel carriers, armored cars, halftracks, tanks, and motorized artillery of the armies of the US, UK, USSR, Germany, and Japan. It contains recognition clues, and diagrams, silhouettes, specs, and photos of the major armored vehicles used by the combatants in both European and Pacific theaters.
The manual is in exceptional condition given its age. It appears to have never been issued.
