Fuel Quantity Indicator, Four Tanks, C-47 Skytrain, Dakota, WWII

$125.00

Here is a Fuel Quantity Indicator as used in the WWII-era Douglas C-47 Skytrain (aka Dakota in the RAF), which appeared on the right side of the instrument panel (see photo from the WWII C-47 Pilot Training Manual showing its location).

The C-47 had 4 primary fuel tanks: Left Main, Right Main, Left Auxiliary, Right Auxiliary.  The main tanks had a capacity of 202 gallons each, and the auxiliary tanks, 200 gallons, per the manual.  The co-pilot would select the tank to view by rotating the knob, which rotates the display to the tank of selected. Made by Liquidometer, part number EA48-5-24.

It is in good condition given its age. The knob turns and the display rotates as it should. The scale for the Left Main Tank is missing. Measures 3.25 inches wide, 5.75 high, and ~5.5 inches deep.
