Accelerometer, G-Meter, US Navy, Kollsman 1002-02-142
$75.00
Here is a late 1940s-1950's Accelerometer, or G-meter, made by Kollsman, part number 1002-02-142. This accelerometer measures G-forces from -12g's to +12g's. There is a screw on the rear of the instrument that, when turned, will unlock the instrument upon installation. The US Navy anchor symbol is stamped on the rear of the instrument, evidence of its installation in an aircraft of the US Navy.
The accelerometer has 1 pointer that instantaneously rotates counterclockwise when the aircraft experiences negative G's, and clockwise in the instance of positive G's.
It is in exceptional condition given its age. The dial markings are clear and the glass and case are intact. See photos.
