Flight Stick Japanese Fighter Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien Tony

$3,000.00

This is an authentic WWII Flight Stick and Grip from a Japanese Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien Fighter, aka "Tony".  This relic came to us from the estate of a P-51 Mustang pilot who was stationed in the South Pacific during WWII.  See photo of the Tony cockpit showing the flight stick from Robert Mikesh's book Japanese Aircraft Interiors.

The grip has two buttons and a protective lever. The button on the right is presumed for firing the guns. When the protective lever is positioned on top towards the pilot, it prevents accidental actuation of the firing button. When the lever is flipped over, it becomes a spring-loaded trigger which must be depressed to fire the gun. The button on the left is presumed to be for the radio.

The stick was cut out of a Tony cockpit. It measures approximately 15 inches long. The spring actions of all buttons are intact.
