This is a late 1940s-vintage aircraft Oil Quantity Indicator made by Liquidometer part # EA 31-1236-1. It has an Overhaul label on its side from Naval Air Station Alameda (CA) dated Dec 1949, and it has the yellow NAS Alameda logo stamped on its side with Dec 21 1949 date. I have not been able to link this to a specific aircraft, and knowledgeable ebayers are invited to chime in...
The instrument is in exceptional and beautiful condition for its age. The dial markings are clear and the glass and case are intact. Measures ~3.25in diameter and ~2inches deep. See photos. This would be a very cool addition to your collection.
