Turn and Bank Indicator, Electric, Luftwaffe FL 22407 Wendezeiger
$150.00
This is a WWII-era Turn and Bank Indicator (Wendezeiger) FI 22407 used in various aircraft of the German Luftwaffe. The gyro in this model is electrically-powered, as opposed to those designs which were pneumatically-powered (i.e., via suction), thus reducing the potential risk to reliability arising from a vacuum system (i.e., leaks).
The indicator is in very good condition given its age. The glass is intact, as is the banking indicator (fluid is intact). The case screws are missing and the case can be readily removed to view the gyro inside. Measures 3.25 inches diameter and ~6 inches deep.
