General Electric
Tachometer, Jet Engine, Type E-34
This electrical Tachometer was used in Cold War-era jet fighters and trainers of the United States Air Force, such as the F-86 Sabrejet, F-94 Starfire, and T-33 Shooting Star. Made by General Electric, to USAF spec Type E-34, part number 8DJ57HAA. Has a serial number prefix of AF-52, likely made for a USAF aircraft order in 1952. The small pointer indicates engine RPM around the inner scale up to 50%, then the larger pointer indicates RPM around the outer scale from 50-110%. See page from F-86 Maintenance Manual dated 1954 showing the location on the instrument panel and confirming the type of the tachometer.
It is in exceptional condition given its age. The dial markings are clear and the glass and case are intact. Measures ~3.25 inches diameter and ~5 inches deep. See photos.
