US Army Air Force
Recognition Manual for the Pacific and Far East US Army Air Forces June 1945 45-50-5
This pocket-sized 97-page WWII manual was specifically prepared to acquaint those servicemen who were transferring from the European theater to the Pacific theater with the aircraft and naval craft that they would not have encountered in Europe.
The first 40 pages are dedicated to Japanese aircraft, and includes the latest assessment of their usage and threat level. The next 30 pages cover Allied (USAAF, USN, UK) aircraft not typically seen over Europe. The next 4 pages cover secondary Japanese aircraft, and the next 5 pages cover Allied aircraft likely to be redeployed from Europe to the Pacific. A two page photographic test of aircraft follows. The next 14 pages addresses the recognition of ships of the US, British, and Japanese Navies.
The manual is in assessed as Good. All pages are present, the cover is loose (but we may repair it) with a few ripped edges, see photos. Pages are only slightly dog-eared. Measure 6 inches by 4.5 inches.
