Control Unit, Bendix MN-28C for Radio Compass System MN-26
$60.00
This artifact is no longer available, as it is being returned to the sky in the warbird restoration project XP-82 Twin Mustang by Tom Reilly. We are honored to be able to assist in this wonderful project.
Remote Control Unit MN-28 (C version) used to control the MN-26 Radio Receiver/Compass system (see Bendix ad dated 1939 from Flight Magazine). The receiver function tunes 150 - 1500 kHz across 3 bands, which were selected by rotating the center knob below the frequency band window. The tuning crank below turned a flexible shaft connecting to the rotating loop antenna.
An example of an aircraft which used this unit is the RCAF Mosquito, see diagram.
