F4F-4 Wildcat Fighter Training Files, VF-OTU#1, 1942
This is an original dossier containing training documents for flying the WWII US Navy Fighter F4F-4 Grumman Wildcat from the US Naval Air Station Jacksonville FL.
The first file is document entitled "Meet the Wildcat" is a 35-page legal-pad-sized introduction to the aircraft containing both typewritten content and diagrams.
The second file contains 43 pages of typewritten information for F4F-4 training squadron VF-OTU#1, including a training itinerary, formations, starting procedures, gunnery, navigation, and others.
The file is in fair condition given its age. The pages show wear, fading, and some spots, but the content remains legible. But this is a unique set of documents that belongs in any collection of F4F or WWII US Naval aviation documents.
