Reed Precision Aircraft Identifiers, Set of 3, WWII, US, UK, German, Italian

This is a very interesting set of 3, two-sided WWII-era aircraft Reed Precision Identifiers made by Electric Corporation of America.   These are the first examples that we've come across in 20 years of collecting warbird memorabilia. 

By rotating the internal card, the observer can select the aircraft in question. The top center window reveals the aircraft silhouettes, the center left window displays the name and type, the center right displays its maximum speed and range, and the right edge displays the wing type, wingspan, length, number of engines, and number of crew. A pretty sophisticated yet simple design, indeed. 

Included are:

1) American Planes, with 32 aircraft, 16 on each side

2) British and Italian Planes, with 16 British on one side and 16 Italian on the reverse side

3) German and Japanese Planes, with 16 German on one side and 16 Japanese on the reverse side.

These cardboard devices are in good to very good condition given their age. Each card rotates freely. There are some notes in pencil on each card made by a prior owner. Sold as a set.
