This Italian Altimeter, made by Salmoraghi, was found in Tunisia in a wine cellar operating as an instrument repair shop, according to an attached tag dated May 5, 1945. The tag also reads J.I.C.A. APO 512. From our research, this acronym may be from an office of the Joint Intelligence Collecting Agency office in North Africa, as it appears that Army Post Office 512 was in or near Algiers, Algeria.
