Turn and Bank Indicator, Type 98, Japanese Army Aircraft

The WWII-era Japanese Type 98 Turn and Bank Indicator was used in several aircraft of the Japanese Army according to the Funatsu Aviation Instruments Museum website, including:

  • Type 1 Fighter Oscar
  • Type 2 Fighter Nick
  • Type 3 Fighter Tony (see image of Tony panel from Robert Mikesh book of WWII Japanese Aircraft Cockpits)

Measures ~2.75 inches diameter and ~5 inches long.  It is in very good yet experienced condition given its age.  The glass and case are intact. The fluid in the floating ball chamber is present and the ball moves smoothly when tilted.
