Fuel Flow Indicator, B-36 Bomber, USAF Type A-15 3000 PPH

$35.00

This Fuel Flow Indicator, Type A-15, was used in the 1950's Cold War-era US Air Force B-36 Peacemaker strategic bomber.  Six A-15 indicators which appeared on the B-36 engineer's panel, one for each of 6 piston engines (the B-36 used separate fuel flow indicators for its 4 jet engines), see photo of the engineer's panel showing the location of the indicator.

The indicator displayed fuel flow rate in pounds of fuel per hour (PPH), up to 3000 PPH, with the large pointer along the outer scale to display consumption in 100's of PPH, and on the small inner scale with the smaller pointer to display consumption in 10's of PPH.

It is in experienced condition for its age, but shows well.  The glass is intact and the lettering is clear and precise.  The serial number prefix is AF-55, evidence of a manufacturing year of 1955 for a USAF order. Measures 2 inches diameter and ~5 inches deep.
