IFF Radio Destruct Switch Box BC-765 WW2; B-17, B-24, B-29

$39.50

The BC-765 Switch Box was installed in the cockpit of many bomber or transport aircraft of WW2 as part of the SCR-595 or -695 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) radio systems. In the event of potential capture of the aircraft by enemy, the crew was to destroy the IFF system. By pressing the two buttons on this switch simultaneously, charges placed within the radio's cabinet would detonate thus destroying the radio. See instruction page from the SCR-595 manual in the photo gallery.  Also see photo of the switch installation in the B-29 from its Flight Manual dated 1943.

It is New Old Stock in its original carton. Measures 2in x 2in x 4in. Actual shipment may vary ever so slightly from this, but all are in original packaging and never used.
