Radio Compass Indicator, USSR, MiG 15, MiG 17
Here is a Cold-War-era Radio Compass Indicator from a military aircraft of the USSR. This type was used in the MiG 15 jet fighter introduced in the Korean War (see photo from MiG 15 Flight Manual dated 1955) and MiG 17. The indicator provided direction on its course, in degrees (labeled as x10, i.e., 18 = 180 degrees) with respect to a ground signal, e.g., at an airbase.
It is in exceptional condition for its age. The glass and case are intact and in superb condition. Measures ~3.25 inches diameter by ~3 inches deep.
